Enter a living, breathing world, where every tree and plant can be chopped down. Below ground explore a vast network of caves and underground lakes.

• Chop down trees to build a camp, or start a fire to keep warm. Scavenge food to keep yourself from starving.

The Forest doesn't feel like a four-player game. Its production value is considerable thanks to the developers of Endnight Games, their experience in film design and special effects, and their immense talent. This is a survival game in which you wake up from a plane crash in a hostile forest, inhabited by cannibal natives. The game combines horror and survival, but stands out from the crowd with luxurious graphics and realistic first-person character movements.

The whimsical light of The Forest is especially noticeable and not just for show. The game is illuminated by a full volume system, with fog dispersion and full day night cycle. We're trying to come up with ways in which light can be used not only to drag players into the world, but also to change the gaming experience. You will be hit by a bullet, holding a lighter in your hand, and for a while plunge into complete darkness, because the fire will be extinguished by force. Deep underground lighting is becoming one of your most important assets and it is very important to keep track of how much electricity is left from your torch or how many rockets you still have left.

In terms of dealing with mutants, SKS explains that you can choose between fighting with rudimentary weapons or a dastardly approach. Interestingly, the enemies are said to contain their own beliefs, families and morals.
